Founded in 1992 (1371 in the Iranian calendar), Foolad Sang Mobarakeh began operations and is today a subsidiary of the Mobarakeh Steel Mineral Supply and Processing Holding. The company serves as the specialized arm for supplying iron ore, limestone, and dolomite, as well as producing lime products for the steel value chain. Mission and Focus
- Supply mineral raw materials for the steel industry, with emphasis on the needs of the Mobarakeh Steel Group, including procurement, ownership, exploration, extraction, processing, and operation of iron ore, limestone, and dolomite mines.
- Maintain its position as the largest producer of lime products in Iran’s steel industry.
Operational Capabilities
- Mining at Hovz-Mahi mine using a complete cycle of drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
- Two-stage crushing and screening (primary and secondary) with multi-deck sieving for precise sizing.
- Lime production using CHISAKI vertical kilns: direct feed charging, preheating up to ~80%, complete calcination, and cooling to ~50°C. Achieved six-month production records, higher equipment availability, and reduced rejects.

Development and Technology
- Phase 1 of vertical CHISAKI kilns implemented (first in Iran, second globally) with annual nominal capacity of 265,000 tons.
- Secondary screening line (250,000 tons/year) and second primary crushing line (5 million tons/year).
- Feasibility studies: dedicated conveyor/rail/road transport (~15 km) to Mobarakeh Steel, paper stone production, limestone-based products (PCC, marble sheet, etc.).
Iron Ore Exploration, Extraction, and Processing
- Extensive exploration activities (RC drilling, coring), reserve validation (e.g., Koodi deposit: 6.8 million tons), start of Davaran mine operation, and processing tests (high-intensity magnetic separation, Sloan, FinRed reduction roasting, fluidized bed).
Environment and Social Responsibility
- Upgraded dust control systems, reduced pollutants, waste management, and optimized water and energy usage; received awards for public health and clean air.
- Social projects: construction of safe underpasses, improvement of health centers (recognized at the 13th festival), leadership in transport safety (“barnameh”), and support for national production (Hatam award).
